Author Profile Astrid Jamar

Astrid Jamar

Astrid Jamar joined the Political Settlements Research Programme ([PSRP](http://www.politicalsettlements.org/)) at the University of Edinburgh, in June 2015. She gives overall assistance for the programme alongside her work on research projects related to conceptualisation and peace agreements. She has been researching transitional justice in Rwanda and Burundi since 2006 and from 2008 to 2011 worked in the field in both countries with several international NGOs and local institutions, implementing transitional justice processes. Reflection upon these experiences of academic and policy-oriented research formed the basis of her research in Development Studies at the University of Sussex. She is about to submit her PhD thesis, Transitional Justice Battlefield – An Aidnography of Practitioners’ Everyday Experiences in Burundi and Rwanda.

DLP has been enormously influential in shaping my thinking and teaching about leadership and change. It combines conceptual clarity, with usable tools in areas such as political analysis, and case studies that are invaluable in bringing complex arguments to life.
