Maria do Céu J.O. Gusmão

Maria do Céu J.O. Gusmão is currently working as a research assistant in the field of social protection and state legitimacy in Timor-Leste, with Dr. Kate Pruce. Her main tasks include the preparation and facilitation of field missions, data collection and translation. Céu has worked with UNICEF Timor-Leste to promote youth engagement and participation. As a volunteer with Timor-Leste’s Youth Parliament Alumni (APFTL), she has jointly conducted research on youth preferences, youth behaviour using the internet and youth mapping. Besides her research activities, Céu has experience as a journalist focusing on social issues and successfully runs a second-hand clothes business.
