Dr Oliver Walton is a Lecturer in International Development at the University of Bath, specialising in NGO politics, conflict and peacebuilding. His research focuses on the ways in which NGOs and civil society organisations generate and maintain legitimacy, and on the political implications of NGOs’ engagement in peacebuilding. He has also conducted research on liberal peacebuilding, third-party mediation, and conflict prevention. Recent work has examined the role of borderlands and brokers in post-war transitions in Nepal and Sri Lanka, and the role of alcohol in conflict-affected regions.
