Joni is an activist and adviser whose work focuses on improving access to justice, political participation and economic opportunities for people with disability in Indonesia. In 2003, he co-founded the Institute for Inclusion and Advocacy of Persons with Disabilities (SIGAB). As Director from 2003 to 2017 he initiated a range of programs to support people with disability to access legal representation, exercise their right to vote, and access public health insurance. He is currently the National Advisor on Disability for the Australia-Indonesia Partnership for Justice (AIPJ), where he leads strategies for inclusion and advises Indonesia’s Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
