Lis is a researcher and development practitioner who has spent almost 10 years living and working in Indonesia. Her most recent role was on an Australian-funded program working to improve the use of evidence in development policymaking. She has conducted research and published on student politics, civic education and democracy, Islamic education, private schooling, civil society development and approaches to policy reform in Indonesia. A common thread across this research is an interest in power and politics, including the link between language and power, and how social change happens.
